There really is nothing tastier than a freshly picked, home-grown spud on your plate at dinner time.
Whether you make them into chips (delicious!), or you have them boiled in their skins, a potato that you've grown yourself at home really does taste better than anything you can get at the supermarket.
And now you can grow your own absolutely anywhere you have the space, thanks to YouGarden's Complete Patio Potato Growing Selection, just £24.95.
You don't even need a garden as a patio, balcony or courtyard will do! The kit includes three different varieties of seed potato, three heavy duty, re-usable Grow Pots for growing, and a 1kg pack of potato fertiliser, so all you need to do is add compost and water and you'll be harvesting your first new potatoes in 10 to 12 weeks.
You will get three seed potato varieties. 'Charlotte' - delicious salad potato, 'Rocket' - an early variety ideal for boiling, steaming, or salads, and 'Desiree' - perfect for roasting, mashing, boiling, and chipping.
When they arrive, you will need to 'chit' your potato tubers by standing them up in an egg box so they can start growing shoots. Plant after 3 to 4 weeks, taking care not to damage the shoots. Keep your potatoes well watered.
